We recently caught up with artist Stefano Terranera to discuss his artistic evolution, his unique approach to production, and his future ambitions in the electronic music scene.
The Path to the Booth
How did you first get into DJing and music, and what pushed you to take it seriously?
Stefano Terranera: I got into DJing very early, driven by curiosity and a strong passion for electronic music and club culture. What started as experimenting with music and mixing gradually turned into something more serious once I began performing regularly and producing my own tracks. Realizing that music could be both my creative outlet and a professional path pushed me to fully commit and keep evolving as an artist.
Defining the Sound
How would you describe your sound or style to someone hearing you for the first time?
Stefano Terranera: I’d describe my sound as electronic and emotional afro, latin & tribal, with a strong focus on atmosphere, groove, and melody. I like creating tracks that work on the dancefloor but also have depth and a cinematic feeling, blending modern electronic elements with a personal, immersive touch.
Influences and Inspirations
Which artists, scenes, or moments have influenced you the most so far?
Stefano Terranera: I’ve been influenced by a wide range of electronic scenes, from underground club culture to more melodic and experimental sounds. Artists who focus on mood, textures, and strong identity have inspired me the most (David Guetta is my constant source of inspiration), as well as moments spent in clubs and behind the decks where the connection between DJ, music, and crowd becomes something powerful.
Turning Points
What have been the most important steps or turning points in your journey as a DJ?
Stefano Terranera: Key turning points were starting to perform consistently, developing my own sound through production, and gaining recognition through releases and collaborations. Each release helped define my artistic direction and pushed me to refine both my DJ sets and my studio work.
The Road Ahead
What are you focused on right now, and where do you want your music to go next?
Stefano Terranera: Right now I’m focused on releasing new original music and expanding my audience internationally. I want my sound to keep evolving while staying true to my identity, exploring new collaborations and reaching listeners who connect with the emotional and atmospheric side of electronic music.
